ToggleGoogle Pixel 11: Will spending ₹1 lakh be a waste of money?
The Google Pixel 11 series was launched in August. In this post, let’s take a brief look at the Google Pixel 11 smartphone and explore its specifications, including price, battery, processor, and display.
Key Highlights
- Google Tensor G6 3nm processor
- 4985mAh Li-ion battery with 30W charger
- Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection
- IP68 certification and the latest Android 17
Display
As for the Google Pixel 11’s display, it features a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED panel. It also includes an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for security.
The display has a resolution of 1080 x 2424 and a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, while the High Brightness Mode (HBM) reaches up to 2000 nits.
This ensures the display remains clearly visible even in outdoor lighting. With a 20:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 422 ppi, visuals appear sharp and clear.
The smartphone measures 152.8 x 72 mm and has a thickness of 8.6 mm.
Battery
The Google Pixel 11 comes with a 4,985mAh battery. Weighing 197g, the device does not feel heavy in the hand.
According to the company, the Google Pixel 11 offers a battery life of 30 hours; with moderate usage, the battery can easily last the entire day.
However, if you use the phone continuously or engage in heavy gaming, you might need to charge it once during the day.
The device supports 30W fast charging. Note, however, that the 30W fast charger is not included in the box.
It must be purchased separately. Using a 30W charger, the 4,985mAh battery can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes.
The smartphone also supports reverse charging and bypass charging.
Processor and Connectivity
Regarding the connectivity and processor of the Google Pixel 11, the smartphone is powered by the Google Tensor G6 processor, built using 3nm technology.
It also features the Titan M3 chip for security. The phone offers a very smooth experience for daily use, social media, multitasking, and other tasks.
The smartphone is sufficiently powerful for gaming; however, for very heavy 3D gaming at maximum settings and during prolonged use, it is not quite as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 5).
For connectivity, the smartphone includes Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 6.0, support for Nano SIM and eSIM (note: the US variant supports eSIM only and lacks a physical SIM slot), USB Type-C 3.2, GPS, and NFC for contactless payments.
It is available in four color options: Frost, Pistachio, Hibiscus, and Obsidian.
Storage variant and operating system
The Google Pixel 11 smartphone comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256GB and 512GB (UFS 4.x).
The Pixel 11 is available in a single RAM configuration and two storage variants.
This smartphone runs on Pixel UI based on Android 17. Google claims the phone will receive 7 years of Android and security updates.
It also features dual stereo speakers and holds an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.
This makes the smartphone suitable for long-term use.
Camera setup
The Google Pixel 11 features a triple-camera setup.
It includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, 24mm wide-angle lens, Dual Pixel PDAF, and OIS.
There is also a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/3.1 aperture, 5x optical zoom, Dual PDAF, and OIS.
Additionally, it features a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. Google’s AI processing ensures excellent photo quality, particularly in low-light conditions and when using the zoom.
For selfies, the device is equipped with a 10.5-megapixel ultra-wide camera sensor (20mm, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF) capable of recording video at up to 4K 30 FPS.
The rear camera also supports video recording at up to 4K 30/60 FPS, with OIS ensuring steady footage.
The smartphone features an aluminum frame and a glass back, with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on both sides to guard against breakage.
Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages
Receives 7 years of Android and security updates
More efficient than previous Google Pixel models thanks to 12GB of RAM
The base variant now offers 256GB of storage, compared to the previous 128GB
Features an IP68 rating, and at 197g, the smartphone does not feel heavy in the hand
Drawbacks
There aren’t many hardware changes, making the Google Pixel 11 feel a bit overpriced.
Battery life is average—lasting through the day but not exceptional—and wired charging is somewhat slow.
While the Google Pixel 11’s Tensor G6 processor excels at camera tasks and AI, Snapdragon or Apple processors may outperform it in gaming and raw performance.
Price and availability
Google has launched the base variant of the Google Pixel 11 smartphone at ₹89,999.
The price for the 12GB + 256GB storage variant has been set at ₹89,999, while the 12GB + 512GB storage variant is priced at ₹1,04,999.
Final decision
The Google Pixel 11 feels premium in the hand and boasts a great design.
Powered by the Tensor G6 processor and Titan M3 security chip, Google claims a battery life of 30 hours.
It easily lasts a full day with regular use and handles daily tasks with ease.
Regarding gaming, it supports gameplay at moderate frame rates. The base variant of the smartphone is priced at ₹89,999.
Consequently, in this price range, smartphones like the iQOO 15R or OnePlus 15R might be better suited for heavy gamers.
